Battambang Train Station first opened to rail passengers in 1953 and then closed in 2009 before reopening in 2018 following the repair of the train line between Phnom Penh and Poi Pet on the border with Thailand.

Battambang Railway Station is a town centre train station only 800 metres from Battambang’s main market, Psat Nat.

Due to the current low volume of train services currently using Battambang Railway Station, most of the time the station is not staffed.

Facilities at Battambang Station
There are no facilities at all at Battambang Railway Station, although it is a short walk to shops and restaurants in the surrounding area.

There may be a public toilet on the station’s main platform although none of the doors leading off the platform into the station building are currently sign posted so you would need to find someone to ask for assistance if you do wish to locate a toilet at Battambang Railway Station.
Buying Tickets at the Station
The ticket counters at Battambang Railway Station are open only for a short period before the two weekly train services are scheduled to depart.

Tickets to travel any distance on the entire Phnom Penh to Poipet line (via Battambang) are currently free until the 31st December 2018.
