The big attraction of Koh Rong is its 23 white sand beaches. The island has not (yet) been heavily developed and the beaches and surrounding waters are unpolluted. Notably there is little light pollution in Koh Rong so at night visitors can enjoy the spectacle of phosphorescent sea plankton glowing at the water’s edge as you walk past.

Other than chilling out on the beach popular activities include snorkelling and diving. There is a PADI certified diving school on Kaoh Touch beach by the ferry pier which offers very inexpensive Open Water courses on completion of which participants are qualified to go diving at sites worldwide.

Adventurous visitors can also go trekking on Koh Rong with a number of sign posted walks through the jungle allowing visitors to visit different parts of the island on foot. If walking through the jungle is not your preference then you might want to take a low cost tours around the island with one of the local fishing boat owners.
