About Travel from Poipet to Bangkok
To get from Poipet to Bangkok you first need to pass through immigration into Thailand. It is not far from either arrival point and the Cambodian Immigration office is on the right hand side of the road as you approach the border. The Virak Buntham Bus Station is 300 metres walk from the Cambodia-Thailand border, and from the Thero Express Bus Stop it is 500 metres.

Once you have passed through immigration you arrive in Thailand on the main road near to the Rong Kluea Border Market. From there you need to travel a further 6.5 km to Aranyaprathet town centre to catch a bus or train to Bangkok. Bus services from Aranyaprathet tend to be quicker on this route than train services to Bangkok. There are two ‘ordinary’ trains a day from Arnayapathet to Bangkok. Ordinary trains in Thailand are 3rd class fan cooled seat only trains which stop on route at every small station (42 to precise before you reach Bangkok) and are often delayed. On the rail route between Aranyaprathet and Bangkok even the most avid train enthusiasts would find this journey tiresome; trains often arrive several hours after they are scheduled to and stop frequently for little apparent reason.
