About Sihanoukville
Sihanoukville is Cambodia’s most popular beach resort destination. The town of Sihanoukville itself is very popular with Chinese tourists, less so with tourists from Europe and North America. Most European and North American visitors choose to pass quickly through the town itself on the way from the bus or train station to the better beaches in the area. This said Wat Leu in Sihanoukville town is worth visiting and the town centre beach, Ochheuteal Beach, is a lively place to eat and drink in the evenings.

On arrival into Sihanoukville most non-Chinese visitors choose to head to Otres Beach, a few kilometres to the south east of Sihanoukvile town centre, or to either of the main islands off the coast of Sihanoukville: Koh Rong and Koh Rong Sanloem. Otres Beach has a range of resorts and hotels to ranging from very cheap to quite expensive, as well as bars and restaurants serving local and international food. The narrow beach is long enough never to get too crowded. Both Koh Rong and Koh Rong Sanloem can be reached from Ochheuteal Pier on Ochheuteal Beach in the town centre. The journey by speedboat or fast ferry to Koh Rong or Koh Rong Sanloem takes around 45 minutes.
