About Travel to Sihanoukville
Ochheuteal Pier is located at the western end of Ochheuteal Beach. Ochheuteal Beach is the closest beach to Sihanoukville town centre, and as a consequence it attracts the most visitors of any of the local beaches. The first 1,300 metres of the beach heading east from the pier is lined with bars and restaurants, all competing with the many beach vendors for business. This section of Ochheuteal Beach is busy and not all travellers like it. For a more relaxed beach and quieter place to stay we recommend going to Otres Beach. Otres Beach starts 3.5 km to the east of Ochheuteal Pier. Otres Beach is separated from Ochheuteal Beach by a small, and easy to cross, river. If you don’t have much to carry then you can easily walk from Ochheuteal Pier to Otres Beach and still have the energy to find yourself a pleasant bungalow.
Ochheuteal Pier in SihanoukvilleIn terms of onward travel from Sihanoukville by public transport there are two options: train and bus. Sukhanoukville Railway Station is located 6.0 km by road from Sihanoukville Railway Station so you need to take a taxi or a tuk-tuk to get there. The various bus stations in the centre of town, however, are within walking distance if you are fit and have a light bag.
